Not photography related, but it is something very visual (and would have made some interesting pictures if you were there I suppose). But Sony have started airing "Paint", their sequel to last year's "Balls" ad.

It feels a bit weak to me, though still visually fascinating.

If you have not seen it, this is the full commercial:

And this is the making of the commercial:

And in case you never saw "Balls", here is Tango's brilliant parody version of it:

Michael.

Comments, bribes, criticism, bribes, irrelevant anecdotes, and bribes always welcome.
EXIF is available inside all my photos, though bribes are still recommended anyway.

Sony laptop batteries now burst into paint instead of flames?

Am I getting closer?

I'll bet it took a long time to clean up that mess.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

I'll bet it took a long time to clean up that mess.

From the web site:

The cleaning took 5 days and 60 people. Thankfully, the use of a special water-based paint made it easy to scrape-up once the water had evaporated.

Keeping everyone safe was also an important factor. A special kind of non-toxic paint was used that is safe enough to drink (it contains the same thickeners that are sometimes used in soups). It was also completely harmless to the skin.

I'm no expert on the chemicals used in paint. I'd guess they left out everything that makes paint stick, coat, and hold pigment in place. It's probably just water and carageenan loaded with pigment.

Still, it's quite a mess.
