Going wide angle... what path?

OK, my pet business is taking off however the nature of the business requires lots of wide angle shots. I am thinking should I:

1) get a 5D and coupled it with 17-40L or 16-35
2) stick with my 1.6x crop cam and get a EFS10-22 or sigma 10-20

Which one will yield better results? I don't need fast FPS since it's architecture/landscape shoots. I like to upgrade to a 40D some day if I stick with a 1.6x cam. Point 2 is a cheaper route. But I want to ensure scaleability too.

Personally I'd go route A

Offering true focal lengths plus larger files, the 5D IMO is simply a better camera than all the x1.6 bodies, and if you are considering it now you will continue to do so and when you do change any EF-S lenses will not be compatible.

depends on the output and shooting scenarios. the 5d will certainly give you a larger cleaner image to work with, but thats an exta 3k + another big chunk for glass. If you don't need the high iso performance or larger image to work with, I'd stick with what you have for now

another point that I am mulling over is that this is just my side business and I am not sure if it will generate the revenue to justify the 5D cost. As such I am leery. However if the quality is there, then I don't mind since it will a business expense. Hmm....

If you're looking at it as a business then the 5D is definitely an expensive option. A 1.6X crop camera with a Sigma 10-20 would be a better investment, you can always sell it later and upgrade if you feel the need. Remember you can take a few photos and stitch them together.
