Regional "Best Places to photograph" forum?

It would be very informative to have a forum featuring members favorite places to photograph.

It could be devided into regions for easy use. One or two photographs of the spot including best times of the year to go, time of day and gear used.

Just a thought.

That comes up now and again. Most people get referred to the "Member Activities Section." The problem with creating a new subsection of the board is that there are soooo many members from soooo many places that it could quickly become a huge administrative nightmare.

The existing section would allow what you're looking for now -- it just requires people use the search function to find the information, something that doesn't always happen.

In Seattle, the Market and Kerry Park quickly come to mind, but there are so many more opportunities that it's tough to list them all. Down Puyallup way is a little more limiting for a lot of things, but we are close to a lot of "nature" type settings.

Yes, I'm in Auburn. The Market is great for colors and variety on a sunny day. Lots of people watching there.

I'm looking forward to photographing Snoqualmie Falls with snow on it and again in the early spring when the water is really flowing.

Northwest Trek down in the Graham area is full of animal opportunities. Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle is great too.

I didn't time my Rebel XTi purchase very well. I'm excited to use it, but conditions are not optimum this time of year. I'll just go out on the occasional sunny day this winter and see what I can shoot.

When it's too cold outside, it's a good time to practice with available light portraits and studio lighting techniques inside.

This is also a great time to head to the Japanese Gardens and take fall colors shots.

Personally, I don't think I can recommend this particular one. But a lot of people seem to like it.

This is one I would actually recommend, lots of Japanese Maple that turn in the fall.
