I had an opportunity to shoot a Mighty Bowl last weekend. It was a very exciting game. Too bad the score was tied 6-6 but those little guys gave it all they got and had a great time.

Some pics. All shot with the 200+1.4tc except #1

#1. Pre coin toss

I'm surprised to see there are no comments on these because they're good -- really good. Excellent colors, lots of action and near perfect exposure considering the harsh light you had to deal with. #6 is slightly underexposed but since it looks like he ran into the shade just as you pulled the trigger that's a toughie. IMO #2 is your best shot -- love the eyes!

Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

Great shots, Mate. Just by looking at those pics, you can feel the game. Nice colors, sharp (dirt flying up during the tackle on #4). Love the QB sack, only because I played DT in school. Great fun, thanks for sharing!

Kerry, thanks for the nice words. I don't know why it slipped to far down either :D but I think maybe because we have a lot of great football pics on this forum. :)
The lighting wasn't that bad but that shade area was tough. Luckily it was only a small area.

puddlepirate44, thanks. These little guys were tough. They were flying in to make a tackle and you could feel their intensity from the sideline too. You see a lot of gang/team tackles :)

This little guy got rough up pretty good.

Great shots - I like the Breakaway shot and the last one posted. Gotta' like the gang tackles (coming from an ex-d-lineman0

Very nice "crispy" shots. What lens did you use again? a 200mm f/1.4?

Thanks for the comments. It was really fun shooting POP Warner football as the parents on the bleachers were a show by themself alone :).
Can't wait until next year.

Deedee0, They were shot with the 200/f1.8 and a Tamron 1.4x TC.
