I took this shot in Trinidad, Cuba during my honeymoon, just on a P&S.

I have very little experience with PP, but I'm keen to learn, especially as I plan to shoot mostly in RAW format when I get my 400D.

If anyone (and I'll totally understand if nobody has the time or the inclination) would like to touch up this image, and post (rough) steps, I would be most appreciative, as then I can go in, try to emulate it and hopefully learn more than I would just doing it myself...

PS. I chose this photo because, even though it isn't fantastic, I like it, and because it has come out looking very flat...

Hi DanAus1983;
A slight tweak on levels; a touch of saturation; a touch more selective saturation in the sky, and a tad of unsharp mask...

He wants to save it because he likes it, thats that. I happen to like the picture as well

This is my take on it, I dont know if this is what you were after, I did some levels, and channel mixing, adjust the highlights and shadows a bit. There is a lot of compression on this cause I had to save it as a low jpg to upload hence the slight blur over the mountains, etc.

By all means L & G...i didn`t mean to insult anyone,thats the last thing that would go through my mind , but as everyone is entitled to his oppinion,this picture does absolutelly nothing to me.
It might have other values for the poster (he didn`t mention any) but personally to me it does nothing.

I thought that its much better to be honest (and i`ve always tried to be,even if it hurts,thats how we learn) than....other wise.

I'm at work so I don't have PS here. I'd create three adjustment layers either curves or levels. Then I'd use one each to adjust for the sky, mountains, and buildings. Then mask each so it only effects that part of the base image.

I like the photo, but maybe that's because I'm less attune as you might be, so please elaborate as to why this is a non keeper.
