Hi folks,

Would if be possible to see some pictures of the 70-200 f4 lens on some of Canon's common bodies to guage the size of the lens. There a loads of pictures on the net of the lens itself, but very few of the lens when attached.

Its just so I can get an idea of the actual size of the lens. Sure the dimensions are out there, but its difficult to imaging without seeing it.

many thanks in advance.

Donald

When I look at those photos the lens looks much larger than it feels when I am holding it. I guess it is a pretty good sized lens (I had a 2.8 to compare it to when I received it). It is very comfortable to hold though, I really like the smaller diameter. I have fairly small hands, but can easily pick up the setup (70-200 f/4 on 30D).

hmmm - interesting - thanks very much for the replies.

considering that there are so many comments on its small size, when the hood is on, it certainly looks large ( compared to what I'm used to ). Just re-affirms that I want one now.

thanks,

Donald

It's the lens hood that makes it look so large. The lens itself is a nice compact size.

Even though the 350D is the Canon lineup "baby camera", with the battery grip I think it becomes very nicely balanced for the 70-200 f/4 L (both physically and visually). The flash helps out a bit as well. I think the size of the lens is just perfect. :)
