No, Not me!

This is the first off the line of a batch that I took recently of my Nephew's little girl.

Taken using my Bowens studio lights. Settings were...

ISO 100
f/9.0
1/200

Using my 70-200 (at the 70mm end)

I must say I've just printed this at 16" x 11" and the sharpness has blown me away - unfortunately, it doesn't look as sharp now it's been resized for the web. Any comments and/or CC welcome.

Too CUTE!!! I bet her parents are thrilled!!! I would like it more if she was looking more towards the camera.

Thanks Ryan, yes they are, the problem is is deciding which ones they want printed for the Grandparents for Christmas!

Yes, its a shame she wasn't looking at the camera on this - the next one I'm just working on, she is standing - and looking straight down the lens!

I am a big "eye" guy. I just love images that look into the eyes. ;) Looking forward to seeing the second.

It has terrific lighting control and the colors and shades work very well. I love the expression too !

I would like it more if she was looking more towards the camera. WHY ? I rarely have clients look directly at the lens. I go for story-telling portraits, with emotion. Looking at the lens is boring and looking off gives much more feeling.

Great job !!!

Awesome shot!
I think I would straighten it so the feathers look level from one side to the other, but other than that, it's perfect!

The capture is beautiful, it's a pity that you haven't given good lighting to the eyes, regards

Thank you Curtis - that means a lot.
I see what you mean regarding the "level" - I'll have a closer look when I'm back at my desk tomorrow.

Not sure what you mean, although they do have more "sparkle" in the full-size original. As I said previously, I printed it at 16" x 11" and it looks superb!

Thats how I personally took it. This world of ours would be a pretty boring place if we all took photo's the same way! I appreciate you views.

Thank you for your thoughts. I did try adjusting the background a little more, but it then appeared too blown out, and ruined the effect completely! (there seemed to be a very fine line between the two)

I will try again though - thanks.

I normally would agree about getting the whitest white background. If this was a white outfit, I'd agree. But, it's a pastel outfit and the background is a nice corresponding pastel as well.
