I just got the Alien bees 800 lights and took this picture the settings where
shutter speed-160
f/8
and the temperature was 5600k
Any comments and/or CC welcome

Ok, problem #1 ... no direction to the light. I see almost no shadow, by the nose, and none on the cheek. In order to have a portrait look 3 dimensional on a 2 dimensional piece of paper, you must use a good lighting ratio with the key light at least at a 45@ angle. #2 I suggest that you use either a grid spot on your key light, or a parabolic, when doing hi-key. If you use a softbox or worse yet, an umbrella, it spills light all over and any good shadows are filled in. It's a good starting point. #3 Your color balance is a touch off too.

The setting of this capture must be vertical, so much space of the sides,do not contribute anything to the capture, regards.
