Just bought the Creative Vision W 60gb model...built in CF card slot. Tested it fully with .raw photo's and jpeg...all transfer to the player using a 4gb cf card....transfered to my pc via usb cable and all is good. Now I can shoot all day, fill the 4gb card several times, dump it into the Zen W and when I get back home just sync with the computor....see all my contacts, listen to music, watch the tv show I missed, practice guitar chops......I guess I reccomend this product.

Sounds good.

If you're looking at the photos on the Creative Vision, is it still chimping?

Out of curiousity as I have 3 portable storage devices.
- what is the card to device speed (how long did it take to transfer a full 4Gb card)?
- Are you saying you can watch TV and play Guitar chops on the device or while the device is transferring to the computer?
- What's the price
- can you transfer files back to a CF card if needed?
- can you see your pictures (raw and jpeg) on the device.
- How long does the battery last (i don't expect this answer until you have played with it for awhile)?
- does the device have any other cool features?

For example
My Flashtrax XT (40GB drive) shows pictures, runs at just under 4MB/s and looks like it will let me fill up the drive with 2GB CF cards before the battery dies. It also plays music fairly well and supposedly plays videos but I have not gotten that to work yet (I think I have it figured out but have not had time to try it). looks like it cost me $169 or if the rebate comes through $69. [note I bought it in an emergency situation]

My Wolverine FlashPro (80GB drive) shows files and allows me to transfer back to CF card, but not pictures. It transfers at just over 4MB/s (or slightly faster then the Flashtrax). I can load about 40GB of cards before the battery dies (about 2/3rds capacity of Flashtrax XT). It plays music and has a radio built in (handy for bad weather watching). It cost about $270 (I upgraded from 80GB FlashPac for $27 - only plus is the FlashPro play music and copies from card much faster)

And I have an older Delkin PicturePad (30Gb drive) which shows pictures both raw and jpeg (although raw limited to CRW era). It doesn't play music. It only transfers at about 1.2MB/s (or really slow) and I can get about 10GB of cards before the battery goes. It cost about $350 at the time. One of the best portbale drives when I first got it.

I forgot to mention that I could care less for the most part about device to computer speed as I can be doing something else while that is going on. But for the record the Delkin with the USB 2.0 adapter is the fastest for that task.

I took around 45 shots at full Raw on my D200 or .NEF to be exact. The transfer went about 1.5 minutes. As for TV, I simply use a Pinnacle Express TV card, select a program off the live grid, it records the show, I dump it to the Zen. Then I took a Video disc of Eric Johnson's Guitar training session and dumped it to the player, I paid 396.00 at wal-mart.com. I dont think I saw a reverse transfer mode or option. I can see any mode of picture EXCEPT Raw and Nef. Coool features....Music, sync's to outlook, replacable battery, built in speaker, card adapter for Xd-MS-SD....oh yes, the 4.3" screen is handy as well.
