A thread has been started concerning the creation of a POTN Photo Book, a collaboration of photos from POTN members, printed nicely, bound, all perfect and pretty.

If you have any comments or questions about the book, the process, etc, etc, please see this thread:

-=Official=- POTN BOOK Planning Thread
Please leave this thread to concerns about the final price of the book.

I just wanted to create a poll to see what people would pay. The final price that people are willing to pay will influence the quality of the book, the quality of the binding & cover, the size of the book, the number of pages, etc. So when answering, don't consider the quality - assume it will be a good deal for the price. The higher the price, the higher the quality.

So, if you were to buy such a book of POTN photos, what would be the maximum you'd pay?

I voted $60. Anything over I would probably need to think twice / harder before ordering one. I would be willing to pay over $100 if it was a set of books though.

Being that I fit the "poor starving artist" category, I would not be able to go any higher than $60

I think about $40 would be my limit... as it is for any book.

I can't bring myself to pay more than $30-40 for a book, but I guess if I knew it were going to support the forum as well, I could be talked into $60.

Looks like $60 is the price point, which is a good price for a quality 'coffee table' book. I'd be glad to buy one, especially to help support POTN.

One of the things that would have an impact on the price would be the number of images included in the finished product. 60 bucks for 20 images seems a wee bit steep, where as 80 bucks for 2000 images seems a bit of a bargain.

If a picture taken by myself were included I have to admit I would pay on the higher end. If it did not include one of my sorry butt pictures then I would not value it so much...sad, but true...

Lets Assume 40 images from each section in varying sizes - therefore nearly 500 pics.....

I voted $20, although in reality it would be closer to $30. The simple fact is that I cannot afford to pay much more, at least in my current financial situation. That may change, but not yet :(

(if it helps, I'm only 16, so its not like I have lots of money and I'm just really stingy)

Pre-orders would be awesome. From the looks of it someone is going to have to kick up a couple grand or more, so pre-orders would ease that burden.

But I'd want to be much further along in the project to consider taking someone's money. Let's make sure it will happen first, then we'll be concerned about pre-orders.
