high school, called "midgets" -- game called due to a fire alarm partway thru, which turned out a false alarm. Mayhem, watching the kids get their skates off to clear the building.

Nice and sharp! I always have trouble with the lighting in arenas.

Great photos, especially #2, ice spraying and everything, the color really seems to come out more than the others.

thank you, all for your comments. Excavator, the light in rec arenas is awful. BG, these were M mode, ISO 1600, 1/500, f2.8. I see the sigma 120-300 in your gearlist, how's it for hockey? Does it focus fast? I could use a little extra reach. and, thanks again for the kind words.

David I've just had the lens a short time but so far I love it. It is very quick to focus. here are some hockey shots I took with it and my 70-200. http://bgphoto.smugmug.com/gallery/2067535/1/106404247 (external link)

Alan, superdiver, skweekie -- thank you kindly.

900spg -- these are from the bench, at the defense door, which I opened for the team while not taking shots. I was D-coach at that game.

bg... -- those are nice shots. man, that lens will take my photos forward and set my wallet back.

thanks, ...
