Lenses packaged with the hoods?

Seems like no matter how often I have asked Canon if a particular lens is packaged with the lens hood, they say no. Then when I've ordered them from their authorized dealers the lenses have come with the hoods, and half the time not. All mine are USA not import.

It's almost like a gamble. One time I was told by the dealer that a hood was included for one of the lenses I wanted. When I got it there was no hood. I called back and told them about this. No problem, they shipped me out a hood ($56.95) at no charge.

Anyone have this hit and miss with getting lens hoods with their lenses?

I thought all the "l" lens came with hoods. I go to bh's website and click on what is included under the lens picture and it should tell you. The only lens I have bought that didn't come with the hood was the 60 macro and 10-22.

All L lens come with a hood (either as an attachment or built in). Some non-Ls do as well -- like DO lens, and TS-Es. All others, including EF-S lense, you've got to buy it separately. (With the exception, that I don't know, that funky macro lens....)

Looking at your lineup, you should have gotten a hood with the 35L, 70-200L, but no others.

I never even cared about hoods until joining this forum. Now I have hoods for every lens. But yes, L lenses have hoods and a protective bag included. The larger white lenses even have rings to put on the tripods and monopods. The 70-200 f4 does not have a ring included, but does have a hood and a bag.

yes, the L lenses come with them, the non Ls dont. that would seem to explain your situation since you have a mix of both.
