Oops! Yes I have a ring, but it wasn't on for the picture :o . You can still come and cook for me though :D .

moshe3242, I had one alien bee B400 just to the left of the camera, shooting through a white umbrella. Then another behind me, pointing at the backdrop, bouncing off a silver umbrella. I also had a white reflector to the right of the camera, pointing up at my chin.

Thanks much Isis

great photo, not the biggest fan of the shadow on your cheek. Would be a bit better with a simple butterfly. Nice use of USM:p

Thanks for the comment, Mike. I didn't use any USM though.

After studying your image for a while, I'm posting my version. I disagree about using a butterfly lighting. The problem is that your loop lighting has the "loop" too high and too dark. I hope you can spot all that I did.

Isis24, this has got to be one of the best self-portraits I've seen on this forum.

Thanks for the great comments! :)

I do see what you mean, Craig. It looks a little like I have a black eye. It'll be a while before I attempt it again though... too much work to focus, get the pose and composition right, and figure out the lighting on myself!
