My first shots out of the gorge, and my first serious shots posted from the new camera.
There were taken with both lenses, and there's even two shots using the 550 for fill.

Part of an old gold mining set up, these were used to soak the quartz in Cyanide. Both are 17-70 and 550 for light.

Just a log, don't know why I like it just caught my eye. Shot with 17-70.

Close up of the falls, hopefully showing you don't need slow shutter speeds for dramatic waterfall photos :) shot with 70-300.

I love the images out of the new camera, so clean compared to what I'm used to, and with so much more colour and detail to play with. Have to get used to composing properly though a view finder with no parallax error though. And of course learn how to PP them, I'm used to sharper, more saturated images out of the camera, but these are so much more friendly to PP.

Congratulations Moppie. Some sharp images here. The water fall shot actually emphasises the energy of the flow of water. Great colours in all the shots.

Nice work Moppie. I really like the different perspective on the waterfall. Iains right, the faster shutter speed does give it more energy.

Nice shots. I actually prefer shots of waterfalls like the one you did over the longer exposed shots.

This was a first impression of the Owharoa Falls; further carefully-set-up shots didn't match.

Not a lot really, a pretty flat stream then uphill via another small falls.
here's one for you Tony, from the 24-70L on a 1.6 crop body too!

More of the Cyanide Vat structure - lots of geometric images here...

Nice shots Duncan, Its good to see that Scott, yourself, and I, all shot the same subject, yet came away with quite different results.

I like your sign pin hole shot too, its actually very effective.

There are three further drops above, but access is through private residential properties. Asking would probably give access, but we did not have time on this trip - there are subjects other than waterfalls.:)

I like the lighting on that one. There are just so many vistas down the octagonal columns: you chose well.
