Greetings from warm and sunny north Florida!

I got home from work Monday and found my boys playing outside. I grabbed the camera and as the light was fading fast I set it for ISO 1600 and metered 1/320 at f/2.8, expecting to maybe get some action shots. As I was pitching with one hand and holding the camera in the other, I stopped to take a shot of Pierce waiting for the ball. He was mighty proud of himself as he had just learned to watch the ball and make contact.

I didn't need ISO 1600 and the fast shutter for this shot, but that's what the camera was set up for and while the noise is evident in pixel peeping, it wasn't noticable in the print. What you see in the bokah behind him is the sunset, that tells you how dark it was.

C and C always welcome and thanks for looking :)

He looks like he is about to stick his tounge out at you - or at least thinking about it! Nice picture, cute kid.

I really like the image and saw possibities. It's impressive that you created this using an ISO of 1600 ! I've enhanced it and am posting my version.

LOL you don't know how MANY pictures I do have with the tongue. :p He's at the age where he's not cooperative at all. I guess he was having too much fun to mess with dad this time.

Thanks. I like the simpler frame and tighter crop, Craig, but your edit seemed to introduce a green tint into the shirt. I've reposted my image without the "vignette" shadow layer on the stock PSE4 frame. I didn't notice it before your post.

Hmmm, I looked and looked. I'm calibrated with my pro lab and only see tones of grey in his shirt.

I still don't see any green but ... I opened it up, used Hue-Saturation / green down to 0% and used a layer mask in hide all. I painted in the 100% no green and flattened.

Great shot! love the pose and smile, very simple and pleasant!

Only thing i can nit pick is the building in the BKG, the color slightly distracts me!

Great job

He still has one more move.

I loaded your edit into PS and found that the red channel had dropped by 5-10% as compared to my original. The green channel specifically wasn't the problem.

Thank you, Greg! :) I think so, too, but I'm not the most objective of dad's ;)
