Basketball - So it begins.

Last night was our first Lady Raider (Texas Tech) exhibition game against the Houston Jaguars. We won 74-53 I believe. Also my first college basketball game to work with.

These are nice shots...no 'complaints' for me. But as I've been reading and learning here, it's been said that noise reduction programs can give the skin tone a 'platic' look.

Did you by chance, use a noise reducer?

Yes I used noise ninja on these. I shot at ISO 800 so there wasn't alot of noise, but I wanted them to be clean, so I used it at half power.

Hey Crash... love the shots.... well done. But honestly you shouldn't have to do any noise work at ISO 800. Reduction for web size then a little touch of USM (300,.2,0) should do it for you. You have some sharpening artifacts\highlights showing up in these. But I do love the shots. Well done!

Personally i like the effect noise ninja does. It adds a profesional clean look to most images.

Thanks for the comments. My basic USM is usually applied with an action at .3 pixels, 100%. Once my next paycheck reaches me I am going for the 135 f/2...then I will be broke again.
