Thanks John,

It's actually a newly opened elevated park in New York City. It's called The High Line and you can check it out here - http://www.thehighline.org/ (external link) It's an old railroad site and they actually have some wooden lounge chairs that are attached on the rails and can be moved (but they have it locked in place, so I'm guessing they wanted to utilize the space).

It's still under construction and the park runs through some buildings :) I think they are trying to upscale the surrounding area.

Great link joosay. Someday if I'm ever back to Manhattan, I'll have to go see this!

QUOTED IMAGE

All these shots are great but I really like this one: I believe I have been here or least somewhere very similar. My DIL had a broken kit lens while we were traveling (she has Rebel Xti) so I loaned her my 18-55 IS kit lens. She immediately fell in love with the difference and I wanted something new so she kept mine. Now I need this lens and you all have convinced me that it is just what I need to go with my 50D and the 55 - 2501:4 to 5.6 IS in my bag.
Thanks!

Hi guys, my first post. After wanting a DSLR for about a year (and trying to placate that desire with a G10 for 6 months), I made the move a few weeks ago. I got myself a 500D and at the moment the 17-55 IS is the only lens I own. More lenses to follow shortly. I have to say this forum has been a fountain of knowledge. Here are a few pics I have taken recently:

I just switched from a 6 year old 16" Gateway CRT monitor to a 24" iMac.
This is like having a whole new lens! Pictures look amazing on this thing. The 17-55 really captures some fine details.

AKHOO, the 17-55 is your first lens? Tough to get better than this one.
