Do people actually leave in these barges? how are they like? never seen one close up.

this canal is about 10/15 mile from our home Dimitry.
other parts of the canal are closer approx. six mile away

very few people actually live on the barges
but am showing this barge which I took a shot of a few years ago
an English couple live on it.
mostly the barges are left there by the side resting when Winter is drawing in

when Summer and the good weather arrives some of the owners cruise on down through the canal and on into the massive beautiful wide Shannon River

Love the photos Marie, I well remember your photos of the barge. By the looks of the condition of the stone building, it will be there for many more years to come. Wonderful captures.

yes, I really like that old stone building.
seems like it is just sitting there waiting ......... I don't think it is used for anything at the moment.
maybe there are cattle resting inside
