Thanks - our pool has horrible lights and I have difficulty with a 70-200mm L Is wide open even when we are up at ISO 1200 or 1600. now we're just getting anxious for spring and getting back outside

I dont think its banding, I think its the ripples in the water reflecting the light oddly.
