Brown just delivered 400 f5.6L

The two most outstanding features I like already are - how much lighter and well balanced it is on the frame than the 70-200 IS. And the built-in hood is neat, I wish all the L lens had this feature. Although the published weights don't show to be that much different, the 400 feels a good pound less and just feels more "balanced" on the frame.
Leaving in the morning for several days around Kerrville, Texas and hope to have some bright days to practice on some bird shots. Who knows, after trying some local German brew I might try some outside beer garden shots - after stumbling backwards a tad. to focus.

Awesome...I have been really considering this lens, and would like to see some shots. Be sure to enjoy the trip, and take some shots...and post back up!

are you going to use a monopod or just go with the liquid IS :D ?
