HI

I took these on a recent trip to NZ. I am not sure the first one works?? I like the colour from the street lamp but think it is a bit dark towards the end of the jetty and lacks detail??? What do you think??

The second one is sunrise over Lake Wanaka. I took a few of these but would like feed back on this one.

What did i do wrong??? What could i have done to improve?????

All comments welcome.

Many thanks

Steve

Nice photos Steve.

For number one, I like it, but I think the light is kind of positioned a little akward in the frame kind of throwing it out of balance. I think this would be a prime time to follow the rule of thirds. This was a tough condition to shoot in, as the light is blownout. You would probably have had to take multiple exposures to get all of the information here. I did a little crop I think is a little more pleasing to the eye composurewise.

#2 is very nice, I really love the comp and there is alot of depth here. The little rock out in the water really adds something nice.

The only thing i would suggest for # 2 is a lower angle,to include more detail in the fg.,and possibly include the left side of the lake into the frame,it seems like you`ve cut it in half.

With number 2 I'd cut out the rocks at the front and just have the lake at the bottom..

I just noticed that slight pink in the sky and reflection. Beautiful. Love that.

I see what you mean about the lake looking like i cut it in half. A bit more time on composition next time.

All comments are much appreciated.

The Jetty is at Akaroa. We loved it there. Really nice and peaceful. We will return to NZ.
