Digital Backdrops

I was just wondering if anyone has used the digital backdrops? I've been thinking about giving them a try lately and wanted some testimonials from actual users. My photoshop skills are so so, but they're getting better. Any one have any suggestions or experience?

I'm interested in this discussion as well. I just snagged a digital backdrop as part of a larger package of studio equipment.

I'd love to see some real world examples. Always been interested, but always been skeptical.

But I thought the whole point of a digital background was to produce UNreal world examples.

I don't want fake looking backgrounds. I want ones that look real, but I don't have to own 50 million pieces of muslin to accomplish it.

There's apparently a quite a few of us who'd like to see these! BTW - anyone have any tips about making your own, and/or using digital backdrops?

I need to use them in December, and am wondering if I should create my own (for a western theme....)

I'd like to see some examples too. I imagine that getting the lighting right is the key to making them look believable.

I have used the digital backdrops before... They take a lot of pratice! I've tried doing it the way Scott Kelby does in his book "The Photoshop CS2 book for Ditital Photographers" but I always have trouble with the hair part! Here is a few of my attemts at it.

I have used them. They are good but I find they take a lot of post shooting time. I got a four disc set off ebay and I really don't use any of the scenic ones, just because they look so fake.

Just make sure the person is evenly lit and on a solid background. That will make it a lot easier to remove them and place them on the new background.

Since we are on this subject, I have a question. I was at the portrait place in our local mall and I noticed they seem to have a software that changes the backgroud in a picture with the click of the mouse. Does anyone know where I can get something like that??? That would eliminate any need for physical backdrops entirely.

Is it the ones that make it look like your on a lake or with angel wings on girls?

Next time you see them you should just ask what kind of program they use!
