The sun was very bright from behind my subjects. I also did a fair amount of PP. Did I make it look too fake? Canon 20d, f5, 1/60, ISO100, fill flash. Any tips on how to improve?

Um, yeah.

Without knowing what the background was, it's difficult to suggest a better way of approaching the masking.

It's also a little distracting that not all of the subjects seem to be looking at the camera - as if they are posing for someone else and you have snapped from the side.
