So what is this used for and where is it on the lens. Anyone have any pics of this. I keep seeing people talk about adjusting it and such.

It's right behind the focus ring and used to adjust how hard it is to slid the push/pull zoom.

Is it the ring that looks like focusing ring?

No. It's just the basic "white". Has "Tighten" and "Loosen" on it,and, IIRC, a circle index mark.

Thanks! I thought that the same ring is used for zooming (when pushed forward/back) and focusing (when turned) like on old MF push-pull zooms.

It's a rear focussing system, if that's what you mean. The front element, hood, and any filters won't rotate.
