I had to return my 28-75 f2.8 to Tamron UK twice for re-calibration, it's now spot on and as good as any Canon L series lens.

To my knowledge they are now assembled in China, for what thats worth. The only issue I ever encountered with this Lens was an occasional OOF photo when using the flash on my 350D at the time. I never did figure that issue out. Anyway it got sold to help fund my 24-105L purchase.

I had one, sold it and bought a 24-70L and couldnt justify the price difference cause my Tamron gave it a run for its money so I decided to get another Tamron and sell off the 24-70L.
