What concerns me is the 3FPS and the build compared to the 1 series. I have heard that the results right out of the camera are much better. I am not doing much birding but still will be doing sport shooting of my kids. Dan I didn't quite do it in that order, rather I got the 5D then the 1D classic. I imagine the 1DM2 is a beefed up 1D that still retains much of the basic operational characteristics.

But that's just me. I don't feel like I'm missing anything by not having FF. Certainly not enough to give up the 1D2N. La Vida Leica!

The result for me was that I kept the 5D and sold the 1D II. If I were a fast-sports shooter, or if I had to frequent situations that might be rough on the camera, I'd have kept the 1D II, but I am not. Tom

This would give me a nice lineup for landscape and portrait but not sure how it would work out for my daughters soccer games. Sony A7R3 & A7R4

As a result I switched to prime lenses. I love the IQ, full-frame and am shooting more JPG than ever before with PP only for cropping. I don't miss the 1dmk2 although I never used the fps for my type of photography. There is a big difference in build quality but I got used to the 5d very quickly. The quality of the images outweighs the build quality for me and the lightweight compensates for the build quality as well. I'm taking the camera everywhere with me.

I really do miss my 1Dsmk2 as the interface is not that of a 1 Series. I am really considering selling/trading my 5D to get another 1Dsmk2 as I have heard that canon will not be replacing the 1dsmk2 for some time to come. Dont misunderstand the IQ and benefits of the 5D, but it is not a 1 series and I am spoiled.
