When I was looking at this lens, I think the reviewers were pretty much split 50/50 with who favored the Sigma and who favored the Canon. The Sigma is known for producing slightly warmer tones, which is just something to keep in mind (and can be easily corrected in RAW/photoshop). The Canon has slightly faster autofocus and weathersealing. I've seen many reviews that prefer the image quality of the Sigma, as well as many that prefer the Canon. Enjoy; the 70-200 2.8 is my favorite lens!

I've actually found that most Sigma lenses I've used (20 1.8, 24-70EX, 50-500, 30 1.4, and a couple more) seem to produce noticeably cooler tones than their Canon counterparts (20 2.8/24L, 24-70L, 100-400, 35 f2/f.1.4L). Never used this one, though.

I have the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 & it's a great lens! I think you'll enjoy using it.
