Might have to sell something to get it. ....*cough*70-300*cough*

The 35L is a serious piece of glass. You'll know right away why it heads up the trinity.

1/50" with shakey hands isn't gonna give you the best results. We'll just have to wait for someone to buy one to find out for sure. Looks lovely, though!

When you're viewing a shot from a hosting site, on another site, you have to wait for that site (POTN) to load it from the server (pbase).

This is true but pBase is having some sort of technical difficulties lately.. My links have been screwing up too. Link from photobucket and the problem goes away.

I left out what may (or may not) be an important point. The Canon rep was quick to point out to me that this lens was a preproduction model. Whatever that means in this particular case.

Here's another, at an even slower shutter speed (I know you asked for faster. I have one faster at 80). 56K warning. This is the full size picture, ABSOLUTELY NO processing at all. Opened in camera raw, imported into photoshop and saved. You be the judge.

Yikes, that's not what I meant to do. I thought I was just giving you a link to it.

Sorry, time for bed.

I like the shot, Dr.Jakov, however, what I do not like is your use of my name in the same sentence/title as the ID of an L-apprentice.

Secondly, thank god I am not waiting on you to tell me if the lens is good or bad.......otherwise it would have been a long wait.

So, please stop being funny and try to get good: how's the AF speed ?

Right, some others have a problem reasoning.
His sentence you quote means nothing, NOTHING.
Faster than 85 L....what kinda qualification is that ? All lenses are faster than 85L. Even macro lenses.

That wasn't even the part I was referring to. He said "quite fast". To me, that would imply "fast enough".

As for the 85L being too slow..maybe it's just yours. Maybe your keg is just depressed from sitting in a box all day and night, and is just too bored, scared, and alienated to perform for you.

Amazing shot! too bad im getting the 35L instead of the 50mmL

I have decided to get the 50mm 1.4, I hope it can hang with its big boy counterpart.

I've found sometimes if the dreaded red X shows up, if I right click on it and his "show picture", it appears.

MDJak deserves a 3 day suspension for posting that monster, though.

This is not Vietnam, MDJAK, there are rules!

The first shot doesn't look too bad, given the SS used. Unfortunately this hobby will have to start bringing in some $$$ before I fund a 35L, 50L or an 85L ;)
