No Swimming today

I have had serious trouble displaying this image on POTN but anyway it's here now.
Hope it was worth it.
Heavy ground swell after a recent storm. Taken at first light from our village pier, Hilton, Scotland.

Very contrasty, this would make a great B&W conversion me thinks, and you could add contrast and noise?

I`m of the same oppinion Paul.

Both work very well, and the scene suits the B&W version. However because the shots are dark and moody, the extremely bright bit of sky is distracting, and I think the photos would work better if that could be toned down.

John .. I printed the coloured version and there is a lot more detail and colour in the light area than displayed here.
And Dimitri is the eagle landing or just perching?
I have been having some problems this morning re posting images but my biggest headache is in deleting a post (my own ofcourse) .. any pointers please?

Nice capture Seaboarder, I much prefer the B/W version, I bet a full rez version has much more detail and would look awesome.

I've not had any problems in deleting a recently made post, but I don't know how you would get on after a few minutes, or if people had posted after you. To delete a recent post, just click to edit it and then choose the delete option. If you're having problems, I would just pm an administrator and ask them to delete the post for you.

The b/w image is fantastic, and I love the angle of the lighting in this shot.

Really nice shot Paul, The Black and white makes the wave really stand out.

The sun was just rising above the horizon and was sending light across the surface of the sea .. any waves got wonderfully lit.
JT .. get that 5D and I've got the 70-200mmL f4 ( most say it is sharper than the more expensive f2.8 ) do you need the extra stop .. I don't.

Sorry, have I missed something?

I prefer the sky from the first (more dramatic) and the foreground from the second (sharper and more detail)

I met Dimitri on another forum the other day .. like his eagle he was flying about ..
