I guess I find it "unusual" in the sense that it doesn't necessarily follow all the rules - where's the rest of the building, nothing in the shot hits "the rule of thirds" there's really no subject since just a part of the building dominates the shot, there's really no foreground interest...

But it works, and it works very well.

Nice tight crop, nice perspective - it leads my eye straight up to the cross/weathervane. I quite like the darkness and rich colors and the overall processing treatment you gave it.
