Wow what incredible light! I think I would have panned a little more towards the surf but it is lovely like it is! Karen

Karen the sun is just off frame and had just poked above the horizon so I had no option.
Urbandancer of late I have been thinking that my posts have been a bit soft when on POTN so I did notch up the sharpening a little. With my new camera I was also trying out ISO 400 to check for noise.
Bye the way this was a single shot, no HDR or anything like that and I did use a GND filter.

Great lighting, rich colors, and a great capture of time with the wave crashing as it is. I agree, the rocks look a bit oversharpened and I might've panned it slightly different but it's a beautiful capture none the less.

I suppose that most folk must like the shots they post or it is some experimental thing they are trying and want the reaction of others.
My point is that I want to display my shots in the best manner possible. It is a techie thing. I know that I am pleased when a print is mounted, framed, on sale and sold.
Plenty of satisfaction. But to get that same image into jpeg, sRGB, 800 etc and retain the original strengths is sometimes quite difficult. And to top it off many people don't have calibrated monitors and can think your colours are off when infact they are spot on.
Great forum this though .. nice folk .. plenty of willing advice .. even really bad shots are commented on with much care .. although I have been a paid photographer on and off over the last 40 years it has only been over the last 3-4 years that I have taken up landscapes and being on forums like this is most useful .. nice to learn and develope.

The lighting is superb and the water really catches my eye in this one, nice shot.

Our house is just past the pier and the garden ends on the beach.
So you just might be seeing a lot of this place. It's all very convenient.

I agree with the other comments regarding the light, very nice.
Nice comp also.
A bit heavy on the old USM perhaps.
Still, that an easy fix.
