Hi i'm new to the forums and also new to the whole photography hobbie. Hoping to really get into it and start to enjoy using a camera.
Well first off i will be purchasing the Canon EOS 400D and it comes with one of the following lenses Sigma 18-200mm lense or Sigma 55-200mm lense. I am not sure which to go for, the 18-200mm package is about £70 more.
Also being a complete novice and never ventured into any of this the main reason for the post is to get a general understanding of lenses what the 18-200mm means and what other info means. I'm also interested to know whats better for certain subjects and what is good for a novice at a reasonable price. I'm not expecting magazine quality to start off with but i want to really try hard and get into it and then you never know.
Things i will be interested in is motorsport, portrait and general still objects.
i don't have a massive budget but i have alot of enthusiasm.
If you people could kindly give me a run down of what lenses are what and what they mean, if this could be done in an idots guide it would be much appreciated.
It's all over my head and it's daunting to get into it.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.
Dave
