Went for a walk in my favorite piece of woodland and only a few yards from my home. The autumnal smells were heady as the sun melted the remaining frost away and warmed the woodland. The air was very still and the only sounds were birds & squirrels - did my senses the world of good!:D ;)

I'll second Reigh's comments, and add to them by stating that I like the warm colours of the photo.

AND you had a blue sky, to boot. Very nice scene, David. I'd probably make that walk often if I had that beauty out my back door.

Beautiful tree! I would like to see a non-compressed version... There is so much in the pic that I doubt 800K does it justice.

edit: OMG I just saw that it's not even 70K... that why I can see the compression! :)

other edit: what am I talking about... the limit is 100K, not 800K  Ok I'm leaving now

A blue sky and even though it was reasonably cold I was still quite warm in the shelter of the woodland. As for the walk it's a daily thing for me anyway having two dogs to walk.:D

Very nice David. I just love the golden colours that this time of year brings and you have shown them off well.

Nice photo for sure _ lacks a little in sharpness due to image compression but still a good job.

Did you pick any mushrooms, David. ;)

Lovely, uplifting image.
The bed of leaves in the foreground and light falling on the trees make this image.
And only a few yards from your home.
Some people have all the luck. ;)

Mushrooms have been thin on the ground this year Cameron not been damp enough!:( The one thing which annoyed me today was I only took the camera, 17-40mm lens and the tripod - missed some great shots of squirrels and a Jay who was collecting acorns!

Thanks Stan, Beech always makes for good colour throughout the Autumn and Winter as it hangs on to it leaves:D I'm also thinking about taking this scene in Winter then again in Spring and Summer.

Lovely! When I take shots in sunny woods I get blown highlights and dark detail-less shadows. What's your secret? :)
