Nice shot and I like your description of the experience.
Living up here in the north east of Scotland we don't have many mature woods like this. Sadly the closest one to our home was recently hit by those gales. Many brought down.
There are some old oak woods up in the hills and away from the coast, stunted knarled trees evidently left over from ancient forests.
