Ok... I have learned a lot about photography here, and have learned to take a pretty good soccer photo. Now I am going to ask a Presentation question. I am posting here in Sports because it is a Sports presentation that I am working on.

I am compiling a slide show of pictures from my son's HS soccer team's season. I am looking for good background music. The coach is a huge 80's Rock fan, so I'd like to get in some Led-Zepelin, AC/DC, Metalica, etc. However, those three band names are about the extent of my knowledge of 80's Rock bands. I have NO clue what songs would make for good background music.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Van Halen, Warrant, Winger, Poison, Dokken, Quiet Riot, Twisted Siser (highly recommended - we're not gonna take it), Def Leppard, Danger Danger (song Naughty naughty), Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses (welcome to the jungle), Iron Maiden, Overkill, Motorhead, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Firehouse. As for which songs, just search yahoo or google for "hits" :)

What about Queen and "we will rock you" or "We are the champions" (if not too cheesey).

If the team had a song they warmed up to or used as a uniting theme it would often times fit very well.

If this were something that was going to be sold to the parents (i.e. professional work) I certainly wouldn't use copyrighted music for it. However, if this is just a "good parent" handing them out as a fun way to capture the season, I wouldn't have any problems at all in using the copyrighted music, even though it still doesn't fall under any fair use. That's just me.

I've done plenty of these in the past and would make these recommendations. Put together the slide show and view it several times without any of the songs laid down, but have a general idea of the songs to be used. As you watch the presentation, think about obvious correlations between what is happening on screen and what songs you have in mind. For example, I had one where there was a picture of our team with their hands in the air (just finishing a "ready, break" situation) and there was a song that had a line of "raise your hands". I was able to make to line them up and it really helps to make things work. But then again, you can't do so many of those before it becomes a choppy, logistical nightmare. Think of it as a polishing touch for a few points in the show.
Also, I wouldn't lock yourself in to your own collection as far as music goes. I've been known to use iTunes Music Store to snag just the right song. At 99 cents a song, it's worth it to make the presentation work.

Good luck!
