It is barren, but also very beautiful. I'm not sure what kind of plant that is, I was just looking for something to put in the fore ground to help the WA composition! If you look by that plant you can see cars going around a switch-back entering the valley...unfortunately this shot doesnt provide a good perspective of how high above the valley we were.

Interesting view, Scott. Hard to believe how lush it is in Palm springs (where they irrigate). I think the plant must be an agave.

It is the Agave , they make Tequilia out of some type, the Blue Agave I belive, Good stuff Scott , California has it all, in just a short drive too ! Dale
