Is it possible to use the 5D grip on the 30D? The 5D's ones fits better as it was made specially for it. The 30D's looks like a toy.

Regards.

I don't imagine it would fit right. The 5D body is bigger than the 30D. The thread would work, but I doubt that the battery compartment insert would line up with that on the body.

I wouldn't try it.

If it fitted I'm sure Canon would have not bothered making the new one for the 5D.

The 30D's grip was originally made for the 20D, but I'm sure it has the same size body.

Yeah they would!

And it'd be eggshell white with a red stripe.. and some sort of flourite texture on the grip pads..

Canon did it so you would have to purposely buy another grip. :)
It would be nice, since they do use the same battery. But they find a way to make some extra bucks.

They do. It's called the BG-E2. Same thing the 20D takes.

yeah but why can't they make the BG-E2 fit like the BG-E4? my 20D battery was ok but you can tell that it had some flex. my friend has a gripped 5D and it is SOLID!!!

I like the way the 10D grip fits. Looks more like part of the camera. Haven't actually seen the 5D with its grip though. Probably a similiar fit. The XT's kinda sucks too as far as being an obvious add-on.
