My girlfriend requires a B+W picture of a woman with good in focus nails preferable nail art, it is for a college project whereby she is trying to produce a leaflet as a project for her nail technology college course, this will by no means be used for promotion or retail.

Any help would be most grateful
Cheers
Gav

A macro lens, tripod, controlled lighting, and a background that won't distract from the subject (Nails). You might want to do a google search for nail products and look for images showing fingernails and who they are posed.

Try using a P&S camera for this. They give much large depth of field - which you might call "good focus". dSLRs give good results but the package you'd need to use is much more expensive. Use a P&S and try macro mode and without and get a cheap little table top tripod that can be bought at Best Buy or any camera place.

Why don't you have her nails done, then take a few shots of them?
