I know this is not a technically good image. I am more interested in what kinds of responses it evokes.

It ceirtainly got my attention.

The Xian area has a lot of potential for documentary and journalistic photography, specially down the country roads. A lot of different cultural traits, which makes for very captivating photography.

Yeah, I have about 7000 images from Xi'an and environs. Love the place!

responses that the image evokes from me:

-Surprised noone helps him up, or out of the street.
-Curiousity if he wants help up, or if he wants to make a spectacle enough to inspire donations.
-Curiousity how he lost his leg.
-Interest that only one person is apparently noticing him crawling.

Also, compositionally, it looks as if there is a straight vertical line just to the right of the crawling man, caused by an optical illusion of a straight leg/body meeting a verticle post.

Response? Concern that almost no-one is taking any notice at all. And what makes it worse is that I'm not sure that I'd be any different. I know that I should be. Thanks for posting it.
