wanted it to be serious, yet show my "youthfullness" with the backwards hat, which is how i usually wear it anyway :P .

81? Good grief I was graduating college and entering the work force that year. Man now I feel old :mad: Good job on the self portrait. Looks just like you. What happened you run out beautiful college girls to photograph this weekend. :)

I really like the shot, but it looks like you were holding the camera out in front of your myspace style. Were you handholding it? using a timer and tripod would give a better picture I think, but you still have a great picture.

i had it on a tripod, and was zoomed in quite close bent over w/ my elbows no my knees

lighting was an alienbee umbrella/strobe unit, and the photek background in a bag setup w/ muslin grey

thanks for the comments. greg, i actually had a shoot yesterday w/ another college girl ;) this one was for a challenge :D hah

This is a great shot. Good positioning, great eyes for this look, and though your shoulders do look a bit pushed forward, I wouldn't have said it looks like you were holding the camera. I love the hat, seems a bit grungy (or just dark? ;) ) around the bottom edge, either way, it works. Great exposure. Well done!

Great shot! I was born in 84 lol. I have 3 kids already too hehe. Love em' though..they are my life. Love the shot...great lighting..love the serious expression
