Love the star shots mate, well done :)

Looks like you were shooting into the sun with your grad ? Not an easy thing to do at that time of day without blowing out highlights.

Interesting star shots Alan, and it still bemuses me that you jumped straight from macro to astronomical photography.

I'm planning on getting into macro a little bit more by getting either the Sigma 105mm or the Canon 100mm macro lenses (providing Kerso can do a good deal on the Canon one ;) ).

I was speaking to Brian (LordV) and he mentioned this one too. I've not looked at its spec yet, but I will do so before making my mind up.

John everybody seems to be able to make good macro lenses........ it all comes down to price vs working distance, the more you pay the farther away you can take shots at 1:1 but i think that the 100mm range is easiest to work with...... you're not too close as to scare things away and you're not far enough away that its difficult to actually frame your subject.
