Cat flea to be precise, and its sucking my blood! I took a few shots of it before allowing it to ascend to flea heaven, the blood (mine!) is coming out its rear and you can see it splattered on my hairs, I guess they don't know when to stop feeding - like you needed to know that

Shot using G3 and reverse 50mm lens as no way I could use a DSLR as was biting my leg - the benefits of a swivel screen.

Wonderful capture :)- must admit I draw the line at letting bugs feed on me (on purpose that is).

There sure are and hoping its over the worst now - the cats get flea collars every month but I reckon I got a dud batch, visit to the vets and £40 ($70) :( later I have "nuke' em" anti flea stuff for the cats :D

We have had loads and decided "ok lets get a pic of one" I rolled up my trouser legs (I am not a mason BTW  ) got camera and waited - I felt my left leg would be best as easier to manouvere camera, so offered it a little bit out where I reckon the critters are and wait.

Ping! one jumps on right ankle rear (typical!) check it settles down, dam its not easy as I twist leg slowly up to camera. It looks settled so move in, another jumps on and procceeds to get some lunch - do I kill it and maybe spook the other? Decide to let them feast, (the dark patch bottom of the pick is the other one). Check camera and focus is ok, I now have a dead leg and two fleas that have sucked their last blood!

I did ask the wife to be good enough to allow the fleas to model on her leg but well lets say I can't repeat her reply being a family forum.

You're brave! This is a great capture ;) I don't see a lot of flea shots here. The only other one I saw was posted by BE last year (if my memory serves ;) ).

Talk to your vet about FRONTLINE. It's a flea and tick control product that really works. Beats the collars and powders hands down. Living with 3 cats and 2 dogs in the southern US, I used to have a flea problem every summer. Here's a link to the company's website (and no, I don't work for them -- I'm just a very satisfied customer):
