I couldn't help it. Tried the fast shutter button yesterday. WOW! That was so much fun.

Did just a little cropping, USM and saturation for color.

If you could have shot from an angle that maybe elliminated the house and just got those beautiful trees in the background, they might be a little better. ...like with #4. 4 is probably my favorite. Did you use your 24-70 for these? Something I would have tried was maybe getting a lot closer and shooting up at them with something wider like your 17-40. -daniel

Nov 05, 2006 09:42 | #3 The light was best at that particular angle and I wish I could have gone a little closer, but then you lose some of the perspective of height and how high the leaf pile was. Don't worry, we haven't taken them all up yet. Many more days of raking, so the boys will be jumping a lot. They don't have school M&T this week. I'll be outside with them a lot. I was just amazed how great the 20D was in capturing the hang time. Also, the 24-70 is amazing. It's so fast. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!

I don't think you'd lose any perspective on height with a wider lens. You'd likely gain some perspective and some depth at the same aperture, just by nature of wider angle lenses. Regarding the light, what about a little fill-flash? Expose that sky a tad darker and fire some fill-light in there, which might help to stop the action a little as well. I'll be anxious to see more, these are fun-shots! -daniel

Nov 05, 2006 11:51 | #5 I have the 17-40, so I can try that. It was a cloudy day yesterday, but tomorrow should be bright sun. Yep, the AF is fast, but still not as good as my 85. I would have to stand way back for that lens. Maybe I'll try that one anyway. The boys will be jumping a lot. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!

Nov 07, 2006 06:55 | #15 We have an acre of land and about 200 trees about 60+ feet tall. It's going to take several adults to do this. But voting today and having lots to do before shooting again. I've never used the fast shooting mode before. I don't even use it for sports because I'm always worried I won't have enough memory. The 20D isn't nearly as fast as the 1DMKIIN, but it's great. I have the EOS 3 and I can get through a roll of 36 in less than 10 seconds. Remember those days? Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!
