Lovely irridescence on the starling Keith. I've not seen a stonechat before but it's a nice pose. I might have cropped about 1 inch off the top of the shot.

I kept the "headroom" in the original crop because it looked odd as a square crop, but I've had another look at it and taken something off the top and the right side.

I love the starling! Amazing colours. Having grown up just outside Belfast I had one of the biggest roosts on my doorstep for years and took them for granted although the late afternoon displays were always a sight to behold. I've never seen one look this good!

A starling question for those in Great Britian: Here in the US starlings are indeed considered to be among the worst pests we have. However, they are not native to North America, and perhaps their vast numbers and annoying behaviors are not so much of a problem in their native habitat. So, are starlings viewed as pests over there, or are they just another species?
