Im looking at getting one of these fine lens. Owners who have one how many have you used a 2xTC and if you have what are the results like?
I have tryed with Canon 1.4TC and more than happy

I would not recommend it, too much loss of IQ and 800 F/11 will not autofocus. What are you planning to photograph with this. What are you planning to photograph with this. As for the 400 F/5.6L, its a superb lens, super sharp wide open. If you want to put a TC on, go with the 1.4x. The 2x is mostly designed and useful on the super-teles. The 300 f/2.8L thru 600 F/4L Im just been curious....Just wonder i I should buy a 2x TC

I have not been happy with it on other lenses. Not terrible, but not great. On the 300 it is really good actually.
