That's pretty cool.. I like the framing with her hair/face and the "love" on her shirt.

Jim, many thanks. Yeah, I dig the "Love" shirt as well. And I think she's a very cute little girl. Here's the same shot in color.

Really a darling portrait with the tousled hair. Her family must love that one picture!

Great shot. I love the composition. But I have to ask, why the 85 1.8 rather than the 85L?

Wow, many thanks to all of you for your nice words. :D

Mebailey, to be honest with you I prefer the 85/1.8 for its smaller size and faster AF speed. I think it's a better walk around lens. I generally, but not always, reserve the 85/1.2 for low light situations or when I want crazy wide aperatures. I love them both though. 85mm may be one of my favorite focal lengths.

That's a beautiful shot, and I think it works well in black and white but I prefer the colour because she has pretty hair :D

Very nice Josh. The B&W conversion works out very well in this shot. Must be nice to still have "good" weather.:)

Ahhhhhh, oh Great Keeper of the Archive, thank you so much. :D

Yes indeed, this may be the best time of year here. The weather is perfect and the tourists haven't showed up en masse yet. But I know when folks start to post beautiful winter photographs I'll be very jealous.
