I really like #3. ;)

The treatment in #2 doesn't really work for me, but #1 is also quite nice. ;) I'd quite like to see these two with the same treatment as #3...

Interesting pp on these. I think #1 & 3 are nicer then the second. It is a lil too washed out compared to the others. I do quite like that framing round the first too.

I absolutly love aging pictures in photoshop. The thing I loath about digital is its clean pristeeness. I still love really old film look on some things . Especially in portraits. scarlett i agree the first older one is the best, she has such a classic look that shed look good in a modern look or aged.

I would have liked seeing some portraits where she was not staring right at the lens, with her body straight on as well. I reserve poses like that for identication images and never do portraits like that in my studio.

As for the images you posted ... #2 is the only one I like as to lighting. On #1, her chest is brighter than her face and it didn't quite get to being Rembrandt lighting. The is a lack of light in her one eye.

On #3, there is no definitive lighting pattern and once again no light in one eye.

On the one that I like a little, if the contrast was increased, as well as the saturation, it would be pretty good. I like the nice Rembrandt lighting.

The Poloroid look on all 3 is distracting and adds nothing to make them look better.

Just a correction there is no polaroid look applied to number 3.
Also its all down to taste there looks as I have learned your the first person to be critical of them and thats good, doesnt mean your rite.. I should of added the reasoning for these were actors head shots and for that end they work wonderfully well.. There are many more shots of her at my site. I did heaps of non headshot work also.
Also I am not a studio photographer, I always use natural light and do not like the plastic look of studio photography. Just isnt my thing. For me a great picture is made by its imperfections, not perfect everything as pictures like that lack charcter in my eyes.

As for the polaroid edges they can be obtained from the photoshop action central website.. just google it for the url..
