Hopefully the title says it all. A man and a hot wet napkin. Aside from the shot (sorry about the perrier sign in the right lower corner or whatever that is), I'd really like to know if the skin tones are okay - taken in tricky restaurant lighting with an illuminated yellow wall behind. The whole thing had (before) a red-yellow cast. Input appreciated. Thanks!

No thoughts anyone? The shot, or the skin color? I would love to hear any suggestions or C/C or anything, as I am going through some first shots realizing how many have off skin tones, I'd like to know if I'm doing something right. Thanks again!

You would get more CC if you posted it in the CC section.

Don't take this personally the shot does nothing for me.
The WB is off.
It needs some USM
There is too much artifacts scatter all over the place. A tighter crop would help.

The color bothers me, but i know restaurant lighting isn't always the best.... and you said there was a yellow tint... so PP is needed!

P.S. his left arm sure does have a STRIAT line dividing the hair!

He still has one more move.

Definitely needs some color work. Lostdoggy - overshapened IMO.

I gave it a quick shot:

I think it may have been too much neatimage instead of too much sharpening. But I would have to agree with everyone that the color is definitely off.

Fair play! I thought about which section to post in, but for whatever reason, chose this one.

No worries, I take no offence/anything personal if it doesn't do anything for you. I think it's fairly funny, but maybe it's one of those had to be there/know the person photos.

To everyone, thanks for your edits, they're all very helpful - even if I have old snapshot type photos, I'd still like to be able to technically improve on them to make them more enjoyable. A lot of the first shots I took were in indoor light, restaurants, on on very sunny days - I only have a non power-adjustable onboard flash, and then I didn't even know how to custom set white balance, so often relied on auto or whatever looked decent through the LCD at the time, or forgot I had a "warming filter" on the settings, etc...

I should look through anything with the subject "skin tone" in these forums and bookmark any good examples. Are there any good reference sites anyone might suggest?

I think when starting out with photography, and even after it's been done for a while, people like to have reassurance that what they're doing is good, or a need to be told truthfully what they're doing (at least technically, if not artistically, too ;) ) that could be improved upon.

Thanks for all the image edits on here guys, they do look better, and I hope, will help me balance out those tones more in my editing and future shots.

To unwarm a image in Photoshop try photo filter choose blue and adjust to liking. Then there other ways.
