Mainly the 10-20 Sigma, james dean tamron 17-50, and sigma 28mm f1.8 for the einstein.
But any ultrawide would have yielded the same results imo.

I really like your style. That is pure artwork. I like the creative angles.. Composures are not "technical" but creative and pleasing.

2 small gripes though.

in #1, I don't care for the green is it flare? On the walk way.

And on #4 I don't mind the flare, but it just throws the balance off a bit, I think it would have been alright more to the right.

How did you convert to B&W? It looks like an infared conversion maybe?

yup, both are flares, even with a cpl and a hood the light was harsh and at an angle to produce flares. I plan on doing a night shoot soon, it should be a nice view.

Oh forgot, I shot in RAW, desaturate in RSP, then add a bit of green and red tone in DPP and then burn the sky in PSE. No IR shots, although the dark sky makes it look like that. CPL really helps to make the sky dark too.

TeeWhy; From the date on your images it appears you have made your visit on Sunday i.e. first opened to public day, rather than Saturday that was VIP day. Could you tell me how crowded it was and did you make the reservation for visit ahead of time?

I think it was open Friday or Sat. I went today on Sunday. You make advanced reservation tickets and take shuttles from designated areas.

Good I didn't rush as have not made the reservation and very low crowd in your pictures was very disturbing to me as why I missed my opportunity of visit today...

nice shots. I was there on Saturday afternoon, and it was far too busy. I'd love to go back sometime when it's virtually empty..

Nicely composed Tom, and I like your use of DOF on Einstein in particular.

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot, it wasn't too crowded due to the reservation system. It was more crowded inside, so I think if you come early or late, it shouldn't be bad.

LAShooters is thinking about a night time shoot this weekend, maybe this Sat.

Thanks everyone, I really do want to go back with a tripod and use a narrow aperature for more dof this time at night. As for the Einstein, there is a new exhibit hall that has a hugh building sized wall full of stars from an actual photograph that is blown up, what Einstein is trying to show is that that is the number of stars and galaxies that exists in the sky from an area that is occulded when you hold up your finger to the sky.

The planatarium has a projection system to mimic the stars at night and a telescope for public viewing, both made by Zeiss. The telescope is a 12 inch reflecting version. Just imagine how much that thing costs. =) Hmmmmmm, Zeiss lens........
