I remember now, but if she's like my kids with the aunts and uncles, she is already setting them up. :)

but ofcourse.. I know she's setting me up.. she has been since she was four and wanted to talk me into taking her to the waterpark.. but, it's okay so far she hasn't gone crazy.. now, when she wants a car it had better be somebody other than me.

abby-girl had a very serious conversation with me about wanting a big girl camera... and she came in waving her homework assignments around.. my girl is a smarty.. she has all A's..

So when you getting her the 1D?

What's she using at the moment?

I know this is heresy but there are some stabilized superzooms out there (from brands other than Canon) at surprisingly good prices.... and no, using the stabilizer doesn't make you sloppy if you understand it right, that its effects are cumulative with good handhold technique. (my best being six stops under 1/FL assisted, and nearly 3 stops unassisted - now if I could do this all the time consistently I could save a bundle! :D)

thanks for the tip and nope..not my foot but a shoe my livingroom has the worst light you've ever seen and is dang near impossible to shoot in, but Dave wanted an updated Ansel shot... abby-girl has a point and shoot.. but, it's Canon.. she has a great time and I love her compositions.. I figure that about eleven or so when she starts to understand math enough to use a DSLR correctly i'll either hand down my XT (might be tricky her parents have one).. or, get her a used Rebel or 10D.. I'm already putting away some glass for her.. but, she doesn't need to know that.. But, she loves to shoot and I see no reason not to encourage her.. besides, think of highschool while all of those other girls are busy with boys she'll be busy with the school paper... so, I'm guilty of setting her up too....:D :D :D ..

What? And make her miss out on life and love? :p

Looks like she's off to a fine start though..

I never really had an interest, but slowly over the years I mastered a P&S and eventually came to realize its limitations - that was the day I was ready to step up. So you never know how starting her out might finish up one day :D

heck yeah!! I want her to miss out on necking at Rim Rd. or dating those fast handed highschool boys with the smooth lines.... what kind of auntie would I be if I didn't.....  .. and your right allthough right now she wants to be a vet.. (but, only the kind that doesn't put any animals to sleep).. I don't know what she will be and as long as she's happy I don't much mind..
